Born 18th January 1856 - Died 12 May 1943
In the 1870's he played both Cricket
(First 11 as wicket keeper) and football for his beloved Carlton.
He followed on to be a Committee member in both Clubs holding positions of:-
Carlton Football Club
.
General Manager/Secretary from 1892 to 1895 and again in 1901.
Carlton Cricket Club
.
Secretary from 1909 to 1939.
He was one of the founders of the
Victorian Football League and a delegate to Victorian Cricket Club.

When he died in 1943 a large group of members from both the Cricket and Football Clubs attended his funeral at the Melbourne General Cemetery.
Complied by his grandson, Hugh Williams from original Newspaper clippings that are still in the possession of his family.
